Something Special- My Story
I’ve discussed my inspiration for Stugo, I’ve discussed why I believe mental health is important, and I’ve even talked about my 1st review. However, I’ve never written an about-me blog post. I must admit beforehand that I tend to be a private person, but I will share most of my story.
My name is Paul Rouse and I’ve lived in Greenville, South Carolina all my life. My family has been here for generations, and I must say I understand why. The lush mountainous landscape, the southern delights, and the hint of modernism make Greenville, Greenville. Ever since I really began to discover who I am, I knew I was an introvert at heart. I won’t lie when I say I’m most comfortable reading a book or writing a story. Though, I do have a passion for helping people, designing new things, and solving problems. It was this that drove me to become involved in student government.
In middle school, I was bullied and called things I wasn't. It was then that I really began writing. It was there, during the pain and struggles, that I began a draft of Stugo the Novel. I know it might sound unusual, but sometimes emotions can provide the greatest inspiration for me. Now, that doesn’t mean I would say I’m grateful for the emotions my bullying experience brought on. In fact, I hate that I can still remember every last detail of what happened. I even remember my bully’s name.
That was a little bit about me. I’m afraid it isn’t a great tale but I’m not ashamed of my past, nor who I am today. I’d invite you to respond to this post by telling me a little about yourself.
